Mobile Phone charging via Water Droplets
Friends, imagine a world where you can charge your mobile phones and other electronic devices via water droplets. Yes, scientists assure that for this you don't need to wait for a long. The scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) argue that they have invented a technology of charging mobile phones using the humidity in the air.

The technology is based on a superhydrophobic surface which contains material that repels water. The jumping water droplets on the hydrophobic surface can generate a small amount of electricity for an electronic device via condensation. Initially, the researchers have used copper plates for the technology.

MIT researchers Nenad Miljkovic and Evelyn Wang are of the opinion that the jumping water droplets carry charge from one plate to another and if the two plates are connected through an external circuit that charge difference can be harnessed to provide power. It is reported that for fully charging a mobile charger, it would take at least twelve hours.

It is said that the prototype of this device will make its appearance on the coming year. The researchers expect that they can launch the device in the mobile market by the onset of 2017.
