Information Can Urine charge your Smartphones? - Read Now

This is a new invention by a group of scientists from Bristol Robotics Laboratory, a collaboration between the University of the West of England and the University of Bristol.

          They invented how to generate electricity from urine by urinating into a microbial-fuel power stack. This microbial-fuel power stack contains ceramic cylinders with bacteria and when you pee urine is passed through the bacteria feed on chemicals in the urine and convert it into electrical energy. The researchers have named this invention as Urine-Tricity that has been evolved from the word “urine electricity.”

          According to Dr. Ioannis Ieropoulos, the chief of these researchers, "Urine is chemically very active, rich in nitrogen and has compounds such as urea, chloride, potassium and bilirubin, which make it very good for the microbial fuel cells... One product that we can be sure of an unending supply is our own urine... The concept has been tested and it works - it's now for us to develop and refine the process so that we can develop MFCs to fully charge a battery."

          Since the invention is in its infancy now it can give you a small amount of electricity to send a text message, surf the web and to make a quick call. If the inventions are going so soon we can see the smart toilets like our smart trousers.
